Dallas Wilson
Florida Gators lead Texas Longhorns 19-7 at halftime. Florida freshman wide receiver Dallas Wilson has made waves so far by collecting six passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns during his debut game – placing him amongst all freshmen receivers nationwide in terms of receiving.
Gators score two early touchdowns to move ahead 17-7 after receiver Taylor Spierto blocks Jack Bouwmeester’s punt and it goes out of the end zone for a score. DJ Lagway connects with Wilson on a 13-yard touchdown pass to put Florida ahead 17-7 with 4:55 remaining in the second quarter.
UT then responded with a five-play, 69-yard drive which culminated with Jadan Baugh scoring on a 5-yard touchdown run to cut Florida’s lead down to 17-7 with 2:55 remaining in the quarter.
At the conclusion of the first quarter, Florida quarterback DJ Lagway is in the injury tent after appearing to pull up while rolling out for a pass during their last offensive drive of the quarter and seeming to suffer leg cramps.
Starting linebacker Jordan Castell was also ejected for punching penalty early in the quarter and will serve a one-game suspension as punishment; thus missing any play in second half.
Jadan Baugh
Jadan Baugh is an outstanding running back who could become an integral component of Florida Gators’ roster. He’s fast and has excellent vision, making him capable of running any scheme or role on any play caller’s list.
Furthermore, Jadan is an adept pass blocker and creates space in open field situations; additionally he’s an extremely tough runner capable of breaking arm tackles while keeping his balance once on an offensive play.
He didn’t come with an impressive recruiting pedigree from high school, yet was still able to make an impressionful impactful freshman campaign.
He spent time at quarterback, running back, wide receiver and cornerback positions before ultimately focusing on running back as his position of choice. His work ethic and teammateship skills make him a standout performer.
After an uneven first quarter, Florida quickly rebounded with two touchdowns from Jadan Baugh and eventually took control of the game with their impressive second-quarter performance. Texas never threatened Florida again and never threatened their victory.
In the third quarter, Florida scored yet another field goal and Jordan Castell returned an interception for a touchdown – maintaining an 18-point advantage over Texas heading into the final quarter.
UF was inconsistent at times offensively, but their defense managed to hold off UT’s potent offense and secure the victory. Starting quarterback DJ Lagway left in the fourth quarter due to injury; he was taken back to the injury tent for evaluation and will likely return in their next game.

Below are lists that identify single-game, season, and career statistical leaders for Longhorns across categories like passing, rushing, receiving, total offense stats defensive stats kicking. These records are maintained by Texas Athletics Department.
Trey Smack
Smack was the primary kicker for Florida during his time with them and achieved remarkable results: 18 of 21 field goal attempts (long of 55 yards) were successful as were all 44 extra point attempts, making all but one.
Furthermore, he amassed 4,717 yards through 76 kickoffs; Smack even scored his career high 56 yard field goal against LIU! Since joining Gators he has made nine 50+ yarders in total!
Although he missed much of 2025 due to injury, Smack was still able to accumulate yards during his redshirt year. Thanks to changes made in 2024, bowl games no longer count toward burning one’s redshirt allowing players like Smack to extend their seasons for an entire year of play.
Here are the individual statistical leaders of Texas Longhorns football program across multiple categories, such as passing, rushing, receiving, total offense, defensive stats and kicking.
These lists represent single game, season and career leaders. Only players with two years or more college football experience are included on these lists.
Jordan Castell
Texas defense has been getting torn apart by an under-achieving Florida team, which was supposed to be easy prey. Not exactly an encouraging start for one of Texas’ key games this season. Arch Manning is struggling and their offense seems stuck in neutral.
Jordan Castell has quickly made a name for himself as a standout safety in Texas’ struggling secondary. Castell’s performance will serve as a major gauge of his team’s talent level and is playing an instrumental role in today’s match against Arizona.
As the first quarter nears completion, Texas appears destined for another defeat. Florida Gators have scored two touchdowns against an inept Longhorn defense and continue their relentless attacks.
Texas has shown some encouraging signs in recent weeks and should be able to turn this game around, though they’ll face plenty of difficulties given their struggling offense and injured quarterback.
Castell has made two consecutive starts at strong safety for Texas and recorded five total tackles and one pass breakup – an exceptional performance in a defense that has given up big plays over its past three games. His play has been of critical importance.
Florida Gators defense quickly took control of this game from its opening drive. A blitzing Gator defense tore apart Texas defensive lines which had proven formidable throughout recent weeks and amassed more than 400 yards total offense by halftime alone.
Florida was able to control the clock during the first half, often getting into the red zone with regularity and scoring on their opening drive with Jadan Baugh’s 10-yard touchdown run and later scoring another safety due to defensive lineman Brien Taylor’s blocked punt.
Florida led Florida at halftime 148-38 and appeared set for an easy victory. Unfortunately, though, Florida quarterback DJ Lagway suffered an injury after landing awkwardly during a pass attempt and fell onto his back with pain.
Florida was able to wrest control away in the second half thanks to a 38-yard field goal from kicker Trey Smack and a 5-yard touchdown run by freshman running back Dallas Wilson, while its defense limited Texas’ offense to only 62 total yards. This performance also provides useful context when analyzing v and the Longhorns’ ability to respond against strong defensive opponents.
