Rajasthan Royals
The Rajasthan Royals were one of the original teams to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) when it was launched in 2008. They are known for their frugal spending at auctions and buying players with low international experience at cut-throat prices. Nevertheless, they have also purchased many famous names in their history including Shane Warne, Steve Smith, Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, and Ajinkya Rahane.
The team has played its home games at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur since their return to the competition in 2018. The Royals were forced to sit out two seasons after a Supreme Court-appointed panel found them guilty of illegal betting in 2025.
Rajasthan Royals have a good chance of making it to the top four this season. Their current record is 6-6, and they have a positive net run rate of +0.790. Their win against the Lucknow Super Giants has significantly shifted their standing in the table.
However, their next match against RCB will be very difficult. They will have to play their best cricket to win this game. If they manage to beat RCB, they will have a very strong chance of finishing in second place.
Currently, Rajasthan Royals are sitting in fourth position in the points table. They have a better net run rate than the other teams, and they are hoping to make a late charge for the playoffs.
The team’s captain, Jos Buttler, has been in fine form this year, and he was awarded the Player of the Series award for his performances in the last match against Delhi Daredevils.
In IPL history, the team that finishes on top of the points table has won the championship six times. The team that finishes second has won nine times, and the team that finishes third or fourth has won only once in the IPL’s 18-year history. The IPL introduced the Eliminator era in 2011, and it has changed the way the tournament is played.
Rajasthan Royals are still in the hunt for a top-two finish, but they will have to keep their composure and work hard if they want to make it to the playoffs. They have a decent chance of beating Mumbai Indians or Kolkata Knight Riders in the Eliminator, but they will need to maintain their focus and not slip up in any way.
Mumbai Indians
After a slow start to the season, Mumbai Indians have found their groove. They thrashed Gujarat Titans by 99 runs in Match 30 to secure their first win of the season and move up to seventh place in the table, with six points from five games and a good NRR. Their win also increased their net run rate, boosting their chances of reaching the Playoffs.
This was one of the most dominant performances we’ve seen this season, and it reflected the kind of all-round strength that MI have built over the years. Their batting is strong and their bowling is deep, and they are strategically versatile, able to beat teams in different ways. For example, over the last eight seasons they have won 62% of their matches when chasing, and 56% when batting first.
Their biggest asset is Jasprit Bumrah, who has been in sensational form this year and is one of the best fast bowlers we have ever seen. His 3/32 against RCB and the wickets of AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli were the latest examples of how well he’s maturing as a player.
Historically, teams who top the Group Stage table have only won the IPL three times – Rajasthan Royals in 2008 and Chennai Super Kings in 2015 and 2018.
But Rohit Sharma’s side have a good chance of breaking that record this season. They have the best team in the tournament, both with bat and ball, and are undoubtedly the team to beat. The question is whether they can maintain their excellence when the playoffs begin. Only then will they be able to show that they are the best team in IPL history.
Delhi Capitals
The Delhi Capitals are a professional cricket team that competes in the Indian Premier League. The franchise is based in New Delhi, India and plays its home games at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
In addition to this, the club also uses the modern Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur as their secondary home ground. The team has made significant changes to its squad for the 2026 season, including the signing of seasoned cricketers like AB de Villiers and Ross Taylor.
The Capitals finished sixth in the 2022 IPL season, having won six matches and lost eight. They have a strong batting line-up that includes Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, and Axar Patel. The bowling lineup features Indian fast-bowlers Mohammad Shami and Amit Mishra, along with Pakistan spinners Shahbaz Nadeem and Jayant Yadav. The team is led by Indian wicket-keeper and captain Shreyas Iyer.
Delhi Capitals are a good team and can make the playoffs, but they have a tough road ahead of them. They have a lot of talented players on their side and need to work hard as a unit to improve their performance. They need to play more consistent cricket in the final stages of the tournament and get back to their winning ways.
The team was founded in 2008 and has been competing in the IPL since 2012. In the previous three seasons, the club had been relegated to the bottom of the table twice. Despite this, they have shown a lot of promise in the past couple of years and are capable of winning some big games.
Last year, the team reached the semi-finals for the first time and were runners-up in the playoffs. The team struggled in the early part of the season, but later got better with a series of wins. In the final game of the season, the Capitals beat Mumbai Indians in a close match.
The Delhi Capitals are looking to improve their record in this season’s IPL and hope to finish in the top four. The team has an excellent batting line-up, which includes experienced batsmen like AB de Villiers and Ross Taylor, as well as young stars like Prithvi Shaw and Axar Patel. The Capitals also have a solid bowling unit, which includes former South African fast bowler Zaheer Khan, India’s pacer Mohammed Shami, and Sri Lankan bowler Tillakaratne Dilshan.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru, or RCB, are an Indian Premier League (IPL) team based in Bangalore. Founded in 2008, they are the second most expensive franchise in the history of the tournament and have won two IPL titles to date. The RCB logo features a lion and a crown, which is inspired by the city’s royal heritage. The RCB logo is used on all their jerseys, as well as their other branding and hospitality ventures.
The RCB team has a long list of talented players, including Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. Kohli is the most prolific run scorer in IPL history, and he has led his team to several playoff appearances over the years.
He has also scored over a thousand runs in two consecutive seasons, leading the batting chart each time. De Villiers is another major reason behind RCB’s success. He is the all-time leading run scorer in IPL history, and his performances have helped RCB win multiple titles.
In addition to their on-field successes, RCB has a strong off-field presence with their various social media accounts and merchandise outlets. They have a number of retail stores, online shops, and a dedicated app that allows fans to purchase tickets and track their favourite players. The RCB app is available in multiple languages and is the preferred IPL app for many fans.
IPL Points Table The IPL points table is a crucial factor in determining which teams will make the playoffs and who will win the championship. The top four teams in the points table qualify for the playoffs, while the top two receive an extra match and a bye in the semifinals. This has led to some epic matches, including the Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals fight to finish first in 2021 and the climactic clash between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals in 2024.
In the current season, the Ipl 2026 Points Table Players List highlights RCB’s position in the standings. RCB are currently in third place in the points table and will play against Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1 on May 26. With a strong net run rate compared with the other top teams, RCB have a good chance of reaching the final four.
