Mumbai Indians

The Mumbai Indians are a professional Twenty20 cricket team based in Mumbai, India. They compete in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and are owned by India’s largest conglomerate, Reliance Industries, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Indiawin Sports. The team plays its home matches at the 33,108-capacity Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Mumbai Indians were founded in 2008 and are one of the most successful teams in IPL history, having won three titles.

The team has also a rich tradition in international cricket, having won two Test matches and four ODIs against England. Their most recent ODI victory came against the United Arab Emirates in 2022. Despite losing the 2025 final to Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians are still in contention for a top-four spot in the playoffs.

This season, the team has retained the core of its squad, including captain Hardik Pandya and bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja. It also added young players such as Krunal Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, and Trent Boult to its ranks. However, the team’s biggest acquisition was Rohit Sharma, who signed for $2 million.

The Mumbai Indians are known for their fierce rivalry with the Chennai Super Kings, a team they have met in two IPL finals. In the first, CSK thrashed MI by 48 runs to book their finals spot. The following year, the two teams met in the final, where Mumbai successfully defended a target and won their first title.

This win marked the start of a long-running rivalry between the two teams, which has seen them meet in many high-scoring games. In total, the teams have played 286 T20 matches against each other, with Mumbai winning 102 of them and CSK winning 92.

Kolkata Knight Riders

Founded in 2008, Kolkata Knight Riders is one of the most popular teams in the Indian Premier League. The team is co-owned by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and is known for its brash and fearless approach to cricket. The team’s motto is Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo (Perform, Fight, Win), and its colors are purple and gold. The team has won four times and finished second in the table twice.

The Knight Riders have been a consistent performer in the Indian Premier League and are one of only two teams to win ten or more games in every season of the tournament. They are also the only team to win a match in the final of an IPL season. The franchise has had a number of highs and lows throughout its history, but it is currently enjoying its best run in the IPL.

At the start of this season, KKR was a top-four contender and needed to win just three more games to reach the playoffs. However, they lost to Mumbai and Royals in their last two games, bringing their season to a disappointing end. Despite this, the Knight Riders have some of the most passionate fans in the world and are among the most followed franchises on myKhel.

The team retained Robin Uthappa and Piyush Chawla via RTMs, as well as all-rounder Mohammad Nabi, and bought West Indian uncapped batsman Javon Searles. They also signed a host of other players, including English wicket-keeper Sam Billings for Rs2 crore, English batsman Alex Hales, and Jharkhand all-rounder Anukul Roy.

KKR also released their former captain Gautam Gambhir. The club has also had some controversy in the past, including allegations that it was flouting sponsorship laws by wearing a branded cap in an IPL game.

Rajasthan Royals

The Rajasthan Royals are an Indian Premier League franchise based in Jaipur and owned by Manoj Badale. The Royals were established as one of the original eight IPL franchises in 2008, and play their home matches at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. They competed in the first three seasons of the IPL, winning the title once and reaching two finals, but have struggled since then. They are currently sixth in the standings.

The Royals began this season with a good performance, beating the Deccan Chargers by 8 wickets in their opening game. This was largely due to Yusuf Pathan’s superb batting, and was the team’s first win over the Chargers in Jaipur. The Royals also beat Delhi Daredevils and Chennai Super Kings, before losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the second qualifier.

However, the Royals struggled to maintain their form in the remaining league games, winning just four of their final six matches. This included a loss to KKR in their final match, which left them with just seven points and in danger of missing out on the playoffs altogether.

With the additions of Shimron Hetmyer, Jofra Archer, and Sandeep Sharma, the Royals are hoping to improve their chances of making a strong finish to this year’s tournament. In the batting department, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi are a formidable opening pair, while Dhruv Jurel and Maheesh Theekshana provide depth and stability in the middle order.

With a young, energetic, and hungry squad, the Royals are looking to revive their fortunes and win another IPL title. With Sanju Samson leading from the front and a balance of youth and experience in the squad, they are sure to be a force to reckon with.

Gujarat Titans

They are currently in third place, behind Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, but they have two chances to secure a playoff spot by finishing top of the table. Royal Challengers Bengaluru

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (often abbreviated as RCB) is an Indian Premier League franchise based in the city of Bangalore. It was founded in 2008 by United Spirits and named after its liquor brand, the Royal Challenge. The club plays its home matches at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The team has made five appearances in the IPL final, winning two.

The franchise has had a rollercoaster ride since its inception. In the first three seasons, it struggled to find its footing in the IPL. However, the franchise turned things around in 2021, when it qualified for the playoffs in both 2020 and 2021. RCB also won the Champions League Twenty20 in 2021, making it one of only four teams to win that title.

Despite these successes, the team continued to falter in the playoffs. In 2024, RCB finished 5th in the league and missed out on a spot in the 2025 final. But in 2025, everything finally clicked for RCB. A variety of players stepped up to the occasion, and the result was a record-breaking victory over Punjab Kings in the IPL final.

After their big-win season, RCB went on to make bold moves at the 2026 mega auction. They retained Kohli and Glenn Maxwell, while adding batting depth with the signings of Dinesh Karthik, Josh Hazlewood, and Sherfane Rutherford. Their bowling also improved, with the arrivals of Faf du Plessis, Reece Topley, and Cameron Green.

Despite these additions, RCB remained true to their style and played attractive cricket. Ultimately, they won the tournament for the third time in a row. They did so by sweeping Gujarat Titans in both Qualifier 1 and the final. Fans following the 2025 Ipl Points Table can also compare the team’s performance across different IPL seasons.
