RCB
The IPL points table is an important indicator for the teams’ performance during the Indian Premier League. Each team is awarded two points after each match, and the top four teams will advance to the playoffs at the end of the league stage.
The table also reflects the standings in terms of matches played, wins, losses, net run rate, and no result. It also includes the list of players contesting for the Orange Cap and Purple Cap. RCB has won three runner-up finishes in the IPL and is home to several famous players, including Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers.
After a win against Gujarat Titans (GT), RCB jumped to the number one spot in the IPL points table. They are followed by Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC). In the second game of the day, MI thrashed Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to secure their fifth win of the season. Suryakumar Yadav and Ryan Rickelton’s fifties helped them reach 215/7. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood then took five wickets to bowl out LSG for 162.
RCB finished third in the last season, but they look much stronger this year with some smart acquisitions at the auction. Faf du Plessis’ side is bolstered by the likes of Glenn Maxwell, Mohammed Siraj, and Virat Kohli.
The club has also organized a series of RCB Unbox events to promote their brand and celebrate the best of cricket. The event will also induct AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle into the club’s Hall of Fame.
RR
Rajasthan Royals (RR), reigning Champions, have made an outstanding start to this season’s league play, winning five consecutive matches and taking an unassailable 15 point lead on points table with better net run rate than Delhi Capitals who also have five victories under their belts.
Yashasvi Jaiswal and 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi of Rajasthan Royals powered through Mumbai Indians’ bowling attack for an easy seven-wicket victory on Tuesday, earning their team their inaugural Purple Cap and keeping pace with an appearance in the IPL Playoffs.
The IPL Points Table 2026 details the standing, run rate, wins and losses of all ten teams in the league. Four of them will qualify for playoffs: winner of 1st Qualifier will advance directly into Final while loser must compete against Winners from 2nd Qualifier Eliminator to gain final playoff position; two points awarded upon victory while no points for defeat.
MI
The top four teams from the IPL 2026 points table will advance to the playoffs. Two will face each other in the 1st Qualifier; whoever emerges as victor will qualify for the summit clash, while another team will play against the losing team of 1st Qualifier in an Eliminator matchup and compete for their spot in the summit clash.
Gujarat Titans advanced on Thursday by beating DC, thanks to India pacer Shardul Thakur’s stellar performance; now having amassed more wickets for MI than anyone else this season.
CSK
The CSK franchise has always been a favourite for players and has a reputation for treating its stars like a family. This is why former stars such as Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, and Robin Uthappa have praised the team’s culture. Recently, new signing Sean Conway echoed these sentiments in an interview with ESPNcricinfo.
The Australian opener said that the Chennai franchise values continuity and focuses on creating a family-like environment that motivates its players to put in extra efforts. He added that the team never lets their players down, even if they fail to perform well in certain matches.
After a poor start to the season, CSK have managed to recover and are now in fifth place in the points table list. The team is led by Faf du Plessis, who has been in great form this year and has scored three fifties so far. The team also features veteran players such as Dwayne Bravo, who has been impressive with the ball and is top of the Orange Cap standings.
However, despite their recent run of form, the CSK are still facing a tough fight to retain their top spot in the league. They will have to win all their remaining games to remain at the top of the table. The Gujarat Titans are currently in second place, followed by Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders are in seventh position, while Mumbai Indians are struggling and are in eighth position. The remaining teams are Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants, who have 10 points each.
PBKS
Indian Premier League 2026 will feature ten teams. Of these teams, four will qualify for playoffs based on results of 14 matches played within league stage (twice against five other teams and once against each of four other teams). At the conclusion of league stage play, these results will determine standings.
PBKS currently sit in fifth place on the points table and have won seven out of their eleven matches played so far, leading all run scorers with 494 runs scored by Heincrich Klaasen. KPH Dream Cricket Private Limited owns and controls this franchise.
Though they lost to Mumbai Indians in their most recent match, PBKS have an excellent chance of reaching the semifinals. Their next match against Gujarat Titans will be crucial; should they prevail and win that game, PBKS may well make it to the final.
Punjab Kings possess an exceptionally well-balanced squad under Shreyas Iyer. Their middle order batting and all-round options should ensure success; yet, questions still loom regarding their ability to remain composed under pressure.
Prabhsimran Singh of PBKS played an essential part in their win against KKR, with the uncapped Indian wicketkeeper-batsman smashing 57 off 32 balls, including six fours and four sixes, to help post an innings total of 210 for five against Delhi Capitals. The result affected the Ipl 2026 Points Table List, with Delhi Capitals dropping to sixth position. Their next meeting will be crucial in determining which team advances to the semifinals.
