Team Leaderboard

The Points Table 2026 IPL helps cricket fans compare teams based on their wins, losses, total points, and net run rate. Reviewing these rankings makes it easier to identify the leading teams and track their progress toward securing a place in the playoffs.

Team scores are calculated by adding up the points of all members of a given team. When using the default scoring of 1 point per question this equates to 100 points for a team with five members, 50 points for a team with three members and 33 points for a team with two members. This ensures that larger teams don’t automatically have an advantage over smaller teams.

When the Team Leaderboard is viewed in Present view it will display automatically (if the question has results) alongside the Individual Leaderboard. It can also be displayed from the Participant App by selecting it from the Trophy icon in the Control Bar when in Present view.

Creating a Team Leaderboard is done by creating a demographic question with the choices set to the names of the teams you wish to create. This can be done either in the dashboard or by using an AI quiz to generate a quiz with your desired questions and answers.

Team Rankings

The IPL 2026 auction ended on a high note as teams spent a large portion of their purses on uncapped players. The final squads each franchise has on the field will be a result of retentions, trades and acquisitions.

Guwahati rain could not dampen Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) perfect start to the season as Yashasvi Jaiswal and 15-year-old sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi ripped through Mumbai Indians’ bowling attack in a high-octane game reduced to 11 overs per side on April 7. RR now sit top of the table with 18 points, ahead of Gujarat Titans on net run rate.

Team Rankings tracks the performance of each team throughout the season, based on their win-loss record and venue scoring trends, and compares it to the other teams in the league. It also features match records and trophies won.

Net Run Rate (NRR)

NRR is an important statistic in cricket, as it determines a team’s chances of winning a match. It is calculated by subtracting the average runs scored by a team from the average runs per over that are scored against them.

This method is widely used in one-day international tournaments and is generally considered to be a fair way to determine a winner. However, the NRR is not without criticism, and there have been instances of teams manipulating it to their advantage.

Notwithstanding the critics, NRR is an effective formula to find a balance between teams. For example, if a team is chasing a modest total and has a positive NRR, they will be incentivized to play aggressively in order to score more runs and improve their NRR. This will help them win the match, even if they don’t take all of the wickets.

In contrast, if a team is set a target that they know they will not be able to reach, they will not be incentivized to risk their wickets to increase their run rate, and may therefore lose the match.

Moreover, NRR takes into account the number of overs that are actually bowled, and not the total number of overs available for both sides. This is a significant improvement over the Duckworth Lewis Stern method, which takes into consideration the total number of overs available for both teams. This change has made NRR a more accurate measure of a team’s ability to win a game, and is used in many different sports, including football, rugby union, cricket, baseball, and hockey.

While the NRR is a useful indicator, it can be misleading if the game is played under adverse weather conditions. In this situation, a revised target is often set, which will reduce the number of overs to be bowled. The NRR is then adjusted to reflect this change.

The tournament NRR is also often calculated using the NRR of individual matches. This is controversial, as it can lead to uneven competition between teams, especially if the different matches are of varying lengths. Ideally, a team’s tournament NRR should be based on the sum or average of its individual match NRRs.

Match Points

Match Points are awarded after every board in a duplicate bridge event. In many ways they are more important than IMPs because they reflect how well a pair played on the board.

The more match points a pair receives, the higher their rank is. If a pair wins the top board they earn 12 match points, and second place gets 10. If the top board is a split, then the winners get 8 match points each. The bottom boards are awarded zero match points.

If a team finishes near the top of the table, it will secure a spot in the playoffs. This will give the team two chances to win a championship. Historically, this has been a big incentive for teams.

Aside from this, finishing in the top four is also an important goal for teams. This is because it guarantees the winner a spot in the final and gives them an extra game even if they lose in the playoffs.

According to the Points Table 2026 IPL, RCB are still at the top, with SRH in second place and RR in third. DC are in sixth position after their historic win against RR, while Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians are both tied in seventh.
