De’Von Achane

De’Von Achane of the Miami Dolphins showed off his speed during a breathtaking 40-yard touchdown run that involved dodging several defenders to score an easy touchdown.

The Dolphins gained an early advantage against Atlanta Falcons in Week 3, as quarterback Tua Tagovailoa connected with running backs Ollie Gordon II and De’Von Achane for touchdown passes en route to a 34-10 win for their defense.

Tagovailoa ended the opening quarter by connecting with Achane for a 3-yard touchdown pass, and after Riley Patterson made good on an extra point attempt the Dolphins found themselves up 7-0.

In the second quarter, Achane made an impactful play when he ran to the right sideline and gained key yards before tripping up an Atlanta defender on a screen pass, and running for four yards into the end zone for a 4-yard touchdown run that gave Miami a 17-0 advantage.

On Miami’s next drive, Tagovailoa quickly fired a quick pass to Gordon who weaved up the left sideline for a 20-yard touchdown reception. Shortly after this score was added onto by 36-yard Patterson field goal to close out halftime; although Atlanta did score with 6-yard run by Tyler Allgeier during this half, Miami held onto its advantage to secure their win comfortably.

Ollie Gordon II

Ollie Gordon II is an American football running back currently playing for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). Drafted by Miami in the sixth round of 2025 NFL Draft, Gordon played college football at Oklahoma State and has amassed over 1,600 yards rushing with 20+ touchdowns scored since beginning his professional career.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Dolphins opened up the second with an 11-play, 61-yard drive capped off by De’Von Achane catching a 3-yard touchdown reception for Miami and Riley Patterson adding the extra point to give Miami an early 7-0 advantage.

On their following drive from their own 39-yard line, Atlanta faced 4th-and-7 when quarterback Kirk Cousins completed a short pass to tight end Kyle Pitts for two yards – however, Miami safety Ifeatu Melifonwu forced Pitts into a diving tackle at the goalline which forced Miami to take control.

The Dolphins combined their balanced offensive attack with an effective defensive effort led by Jordyn Brooks’ 10 tackles (seven solo) and one sack for an impressive defensive effort that included four tackles from cornerback Jack Jones as well as one from safety Tyrel Dodson who recovered a fumble.

Jaylen Waddle

The Miami Dolphins outshone the Atlanta Falcons 34-10 through a balanced offensive and defensive effort, led by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s four touchdown passes and running back De’Von Achane’s 91 scrimmage yards and score. Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle also made an impressionful showing, catching five passes for 99 yards and scoring once himself.

After Atlanta went three and out on its next drive, Miami capitalized with strong field position on the short side. On the first play of their drive, Tagovailoa dumped a short pass to Achane who raced up the left sideline for a 20-yard touchdown to put them up 7-0. On their next drive Tagovailoa found wide receiver Malik Washington open on a 43-yard touchdown route; kicker Riley Patterson scored extra point and gave Miami a 14-0 advantage.

After halftime, the Dolphins continued their momentum with a 10-play, 82-yard drive highlighted by completions to Washington and Waddle. Following this drive, safety Ifeatu Melifonwu recovered Bijan Robinson’s fumble for another touchdown run by Miami to extend its lead 24-3.

Jaylen Waddle could make an immediate impactful contribution for the Denver Broncos when they play him this season, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero who discussed Waddle’s options ahead of November 4’s trade deadline.

Malik Washington

Miami found their footing early after trading punts on their opening drives, as their offense got its feet under them on its second possession. Tagovailoa completed a 17-yard pass to Washington while mixing in running plays from Ollie Gordon II for further penetration into Falcons territory – ultimately culminating with Tagovailoa passing Achane a 3-yard touchdown pass that gave Miami a 7-0 advantage.

The Dolphins held Atlanta to 40 rushing yards on Sunday, an NFL-low 2.6 yards per carry average. Additionally, four sacks and three turnovers occurred, including two interceptions from cornerback Deebo Samuel.

Even though their team lost, several Dolphins players produced outstanding individual performances. Wide receiver Malik Washington made headlines last season for his 47-yard kickoff return, but that might be all he sees this season. Malik McLain and Rashawn Scott are currently competing with him to be the starting kickoff returner.

On Sunday, the Dolphins defense was also stellar, limiting Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts to only nine receptions on National Tight End Day. Linebacker Jordyn Brooks excelled on defense with 10 tackles (seven solo) and one sack while safety Ifeatu Melifonwu added five tackles and one sack each.

Deebo Samuel

Deebo Samuel led the Dolphins to victory at Mercedes-Benz Stadium by recording 16 receptions for 177 yards and two touchdowns on their wining 34-10 scorecard. Samuel made headlines early with a 25-yard catch, the longest play of his career. Later, Samuel played an instrumental role on their second-half scoring drive as he rushed two yards on fourth down before catching Tagovailoa’s 20-yard touchdown pass and scoring on that scoring drive as well.

The Dolphins improved to 6-5 on the season through an effective offensive performance and staunch defensive effort. Tagovailoa finished with four touchdown passes while running backs De’Von Achane and Ollie Gordon combined for 91 total scrimmage yards.

Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle shined, recording five receptions for 99 yards and scoring once. On defense, linebacker Jordyn Brooks led with 10 tackles (seven solo), one sack, and one fumble recovery; While safety Ifeatu Melifonwu also put forth impressive efforts with five tackles and three pass defenses.
