QB Taylen Green

Arkansas Razorbacks quarterback Alex Green has been the focal point of their offense this year, completing 182 out of 293 passes for 2,537 yards and 19 touchdowns while also rushing for 719 yards (second most productive running back on team).

Green has an uncanny ability for making big plays when needed most, making his presence on the field make them dangerous against any opposition.

Arkansas was on fire during their first meeting between these two teams. Texas allowed just two field goals on its opening drives but managed to score on seven out of nine possessions afterwards to take control of the contest and put themselves ahead by 14-6.

Parker Livingstone caught three touchdown passes for Texas including one from 54 yards late in the second quarter – giving them an 18-6 edge.

Texas and Arkansas football teams have enjoyed an ongoing rivalry since 1903. Both were originally members of the Southwest Conference until 1991 when Arkansas joined the SEC.

Both have seen each other several times over the years with memorable battles between 1969 – where Bob Broyles of Arkansas defeated Darrell Royal’s top-ranked Texas squad – becoming known as ‘The Game of the Century.

President Richard Nixon himself attended this historic game that propelled Arkansas Razorbacks to national championship status and set a precedent that has carried through to this day.

Since the 1970s, every regular season matchup between these teams has taken place at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium on the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville; regularly selling out this stadium with spectators coming from far and wide to witness it! A fan-favorite on their schedule, this rivalry game often sells out its seats; being featured in multiple movies (Remember the Titans); both teams will likely meet again by 2024!

RB Mike Washington Jr.

Washington is an aggressive runner with sufficient agility and breakaway speed, as well as being an adept receiver out of the backfield. Furthermore, his understanding of the game makes him an eager worker.

Starting all 12 games and leading his team with 1,070 rushing yards (167 carries, 6.4 yards per carry) and eight touchdowns… Tied for fifth in conference with nine rushing TDs… Posted a career-best performance against Western Kentucky (Nov 9) by gaining 152 yards on 19 carries (his second 100+ yard effort of the season), in addition to catching two passes for 21 yards… Ran for 70 yards in 15 carries against Ole Miss (Sept 13), scoring his first multi-touchdown effort as a Razorback… and also caught one pass for six yards…

Washington has spent time at three colleges, showing consistent improvement each time. A big, powerful back who should thrive in the SEC’s punishing offense, Washington possesses all of the characteristics to become an impactful performer by 2025.

WR DeAndre Moore Jr.

The University of Arkansas Razorbacks football program represents the University of Arkansas in American football. Competing in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Arkansas plays home games at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville and War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock; their nickname, coined after Hugo Bezdek described their style of play as like that of wild boars, was adopted in 1909.

Moore found himself open on multiple occasions against Texas, making himself available for some big plays downfield. In the first quarter alone he caught two passes for 62 yards that resulted in touchdowns; later in the game he ran in for another one on his first drive of the second quarter.

Later in the game, he caught two more passes for a combined total of 84 yards, continuing his consistent performance as an offensive target for quarterback Mike Washington Jr. Additionally, he provided big threats in red zone situations.

Even after this disappointing defeat, many fans remain hopeful that this matchup can reignite some of the past flames between these teams and bring back an annual game as part of SEC schedule.

Arkansas Razorbacks fans regard the annual matchup with LSU as one of their most crucial contests of the season, often being used to decide division championships since joining the SEC. As with other matchups between these teams, Arkansas won this one last time after defeating LSU Tigers at Baton Rouge Stadium on September 28, 2007.

Longhorn kicker Will Stone won’t be present for this game, so redshirt freshman Spencer Barnett will handle his duties instead. Barnett has scored 15 of 19 field goal attempts this season while tallying six touchbacks out of 37 kickoffs he has taken part in so far this year.

WR Parker Livingstone

Texas kicker Mason Shipley opened up the second quarter with a 44-yard field goal, giving Texas 151 yards in offense so far. Middle linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. has an injury so Trey Moore will start in his place.

On 2nd-and-goal from 4-yards out, UT deploys their Arch Special. Parker Livingstone receives a reverse toss from quarterback Will Grier and runs it all the way in for an easy touchdown.

Manning once more connected with Livingstone on a long pass down the left sideline to give Texas an early lead at halftime. Manning averages over 15 yards per completion.

Texas’ offense got off to a strong start on its opening drive of the second half, driving near midfield when Hogs defense forced Texas to punt. Texas took over at Arkansas 35-yard line.

Mike Washington Jr. of Texas makes an unexpected 22-yard touchdown run over an unsuspecting secondary. Although surprising, Texas defense can make no stand on this particular play of action.

On their next Texas drive, Arkansas LB Colin Simmons sacks quarterback KJ Jackson and strips it. Liona Lefau is there to collect it and return it 52 yards for another touchdown score.

Texas Longhorns’ defense has fallen into disarray. Through three quarters they have allowed 425 yards to their opponents while scoring five touchdowns themselves; unfortunately, their lack of defensive effort is costing them dearly and keeping a playoff berth out of reach.

Arkansas Razorbacks Football Vs Texas Longhorns Football Match Player Stats highlight how defensive breakdowns and explosive offensive performances shaped the contest. If Texas wants any chance of reaching the playoffs, they must win out the remaining games this season while making significant improvements on the defensive side of the ball.
