England vs. India 1st Test
At Headingley, England narrowly defeated India in an intense and nail-biting Test match that came down to the last day and was an exciting affair from start to finish. India had many opportunities to seal victory but failed miserably; England kept pace through Duckett’s 149 and Pope’s 100 not out, along with Brook’s magnificent innings – his second century this summer!
Jofra Archer was on top form, taking five wickets for the first time since making his debut against New Zealand back in June. Durham seamer Brydon Carse was equally impressive throughout the winter; his spell with the new ball in this match was stunning – taking Yashasvi Jaiswal for one. That feat alone was outstanding.
Overall, England put in an excellent performance during this Test match and are likely to be delighted with their result. They look poised for victory going into Edgbaston next week; it will be exciting to watch their performance there!
England have selected a 14-man squad for the Rothesay Test starting on Friday 20 June at Headingley. Durham seamer Brydon Carse and Warwickshire duo Jacob Bethell and Chris Woakes have been added to the existing 13-man squad, along with Jofra Archer replacing injured batsman Akash Deep. Furthermore, fast bowler Mark Wood – born in South Africa but now playing for Middlesex – was added as well – both strong threats with bat and ball!
England vs. India 2nd Test
Akash Deep completed a stunning ten-wicket haul at Edgbaston to give India their biggest victory in this series, breaking their jinx at Edgbaston and breaking a long streak of losses at Edgbaston. His performance will go down in history as one of the finest Indian Test matches of recent times; from start to finish he wreaked havoc against batters both on and off the pitch with pace and spin; supported by Shubman Gill on bat and Rishabh Pant providing crucial second innings support in second innings innings.
England’s batsmen looked discomfited by India’s formidable attack. Jamie Smith and Harry Brook held them together, but their deficit always proved too large to overcome. Once India introduced new ball, England collapsed completely.
Atkinson gives himself plenty of room and drives Krishna through point for four, marking his first boundary drive against Krishna in this innings.
At The Oval, the clouds have darkened rapidly and umpires have called for covers. Let’s wait and see how long a delay there will be before the match resumes.
Woakes has been struck on his wrist by a short delivery, which will require time for recovery and ultimately result in him missing the rest of the Test match. Jos Buttler will take over at number three.
England vs. India 3rd Test
Test cricket thrives on raw emotion and gut-wrenching drama – two sides battling hard until the very last minute – which was evident on Lord’s on Sunday as England edged past India in an exciting thriller.
Ravindra Jadeja’s resolve was instrumental to keeping India within reach, as his offspinner deftly countered England with an old ball, looking poised to take India past 387 before miscuing a run-out attempt and misfiring with an incorrect delivery. Still, Jadeja stayed firm, helping keep India competitive thanks to an improved ball and resilient lower order batsmen led by Brydon Carse and Jos Buttler from England.
Jasprit Bumrah produced a three-wicket burst but it was always an uphill struggle, and on the final morning his chance for victory was dashed when he was bowled by Stuart Broad’s short delivery. While disappointed to end up on the losing side, Jasprit can take heart in knowing his contribution and that of India’s bowling attack in helping take down South Africa 4-0.
Harshit Rana made a welcome return to Shubman Gill’s team as they competed in their inaugural international match since the ICC World Test Championship cycle started in 2024.
Joining pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh Prasidh Krishna and Akash Deep in India’s impressive pace line-up he will have plenty of work to do but remains confident of proving himself with both bat and ball in Test cricket.

England vs. India 4th Test
England Men’s selection panel announced yesterday that Hampshire spinner Liam Dawson has been selected as part of their squad ahead of the Rothesay Fourth Test against India at Emirates Old Trafford. Dawson will replace Somerset bowler Shoaib Bashir who had to sit out due to a broken finger, replacing him in this series.
Dawson has already represented England three times and hopes to add another five wickets in this innings. Over the past couple of seasons with Hampshire he has been consistently performing well, helping their club win promotion to Division One of the County Championship in both 2024 and 2025.
But they were far from finished; Washington struck an epic six to the point fence off the first ball of Stokes’ final over, taking his maiden century and taking India to 424-4 with more than two sessions left to play. Jadeja then hit Jadeja for four to bring up 107no and give India an enormous 114-run advantage before tea had even arrived.
At the drinks break, England captain Ben Stokes proposed a draw, but both batsmen rejected it in order to further defy odds and deny the tourists a series-clinching win. Both teams now enter Thursday’s fifth Test match at The Kia Oval with everything to gain.
Tune into Sky Sports Cricket Live for all the action from The Kia Oval on Thursday – live! England’s Jos Buttler could return to the starting XI, while Josprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj will look to prove their fitness following any issues which have hindered their performances so far this week.
No matter the result at Oval, there will be plenty of positives for both teams to take from this Test match. Stokes may boast five wickets with his ball while scoring a century despite getting battered, while Indian players will find strength in this display of fight and quality.
England vs. India 5th Test
Ben Duckett and Joe Root rescued England after an uncertain start by producing powerful innings that helped secure victory against India in an exciting fifth Test at The Oval by six runs – their narrowest win since 2005 in an Ashes series! It capped an enthralling series tie and provided two great teams with an unforgettable battle of attrition between them to play out.
India maintained their hopes for a draw with an aggressive second innings performance from India that saw Shubman Gill score his fourth century in this remarkable series, helping his side avoid an innings defeat. After an initially slow start, Gill managed to reach his fifty in 338 balls – surpassing teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 712 total in 2023/24 as the most prolific Indian batsman against England.
Zak Crawley angered India with his time-wasting at the end of Day 3, prompting captain Gautam Gambhir to confront him for it and spark an intense exchange between both parties.
Krishna opened with two wickets early in the day – Crawley being caught at midwicket by Jamie Smith before being stumped by Liam Dawson in an over before lunch. Following lunch’s end however, India’s batsmen lost their edge. Yashasvi Jaiswal hit 51 not out before being given reprieves on 20 and 40 before Josh Tongue ran through their lower order to trap KL Rahul (77) lbw within one over of this session.
England have successfully combined the fearlessness of Bazball with the maturity of modern Test cricket to create one of the most exciting and entertaining sides in international cricket. This aggressive approach has brought new energy to the longest format and is reflected in the England Cricket Team Vs India National Cricket Team Match Scorecard, where fans can track thrilling batting performances, attacking strategies, and game-changing bowling spells from both teams. England’s fearless style has helped revive Test cricket and created memorable contests against strong opponents like India.
