India vs Zimbabwe 2026 T20I Series Schedule

India will travel to Zimbabwe for a three-match T20I series in July 2026, marking their inaugural international assignment since winning the T20 World Cup title and taking place at Harare Sports Club.

India will embark on an impressive international schedule this year that includes facing West Indies in five-match ODI and T20I series and Sri Lanka in two white-ball series before competing against Australia for the highly-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy starting January 2027.

India kept their hopes alive of reaching the T20 World Cup semi-final with an emphatic 72-run win against Zimbabwe at home in Chennai. India posted their highest total ever at this tournament as they posted 256-4 in response to Zimbabwe’s 111-8 total, led by opener Abhishek Sharma’s impressive 55 off 30 balls while all-rounders Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma both registered half-centuries.

India have several T20I specialists not regularly seen in their ODI lineup, including Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel who might feature.

India’s selectors will likely give these players an opportunity to stake a claim for one of India’s T20I spots ahead of 2027’s World Cup tournament; also, India have many young talent eager to impress in limited-overs tournaments to secure international selection.

India vs Zimbabwe 2026 ODI Series Schedule

India emerged victorious from their opening match after narrowly escaping an upset scare to advance to the quarter-final of Super 8 against South Africa.

Zimbabwe were not enough to prevent India from bowling them out for just 111 and falling into must-win territory, despite Brian Bennett completing an unbeaten century that included eight fours and six sixes during 96 balls batting innings by hitting eight fours and six sixes with just 24 balls left to spare; they eventually were bowled out and must win to remain alive in Super 8 quarter-final action with South Africa.

Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan made an effective start, but Suryakumar Yadav’s explosive 89 from 62 balls proved too much for Zimbabwe, who dropped four catches. Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Varma then took control, scoring an amazing 84 partnership from 12-18 overs with seven sixes that was their highest of this tournament and marked both players’ third fifty plus score for themselves in this tournament.

India vs Zimbabwe 2026 Test Series Schedule

After an inauspicious start in Super 8, India found their groove quickly, defeating Zimbabwe at home to remain undefeated in this tournament. Suryakumar Yadav punished Zimbabwe’s poor fielding with an impressive 26-ball half century that helped India pass 250 runs for the first time ever during this tournament.

He was assisted well by Ishan Kishan (38 from 31 balls) and Hardik Pandya (28) who shared an unbeaten 68-run second wicket stand.

Zimbabwe faced little resistance in Brian Bennett’s 97 off 59 balls; their only notable resistance came in form of two-time champion South Africa in Kolkata on Sunday and victory would put Zimbabwe in an ideal position to qualify for the semi-finals.

India vs Zimbabwe 2026 T20I Series Final

India kept their T20 World Cup semi-final hopes alive with a 72-run win over Zimbabwe in Chennai. As defending champions India posted 256-4 for their second highest T20 international total.

For the first time ever this tournament and just two balls shy of matching their best T20 international score which came against South Africa in the inaugural event. Abhishek Sharma scored an effortless half century off 30 balls while Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma all contributed significantly as well.

Sharma enjoyed an explosive finish, hitting three sixes off his last four balls to reach 68 off 23 and put on 84 with Ishan Kishan (38) during the last 5.1 overs, giving India hope they would reach 257. However, Tashinga Mushokiwa dropped Sharma on eight and Suryakumar Yadav took full advantage of their poor fielding to score 33 off 13 deliveries – effectively breaking through their innings entirely.

India will visit Zimbabwe for a three-match Twenty20 International series beginning July 2026 – their first visit since winning the 2024 World Cup. Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director Givemore Makoni sees this series as an important opportunity: “Matches against India generate considerable excitement, making this tour an excellent chance for our players to show what they can do against world champions.” India National Cricket Team Vs Zimbabwe National Cricket Team Match Scorecard.
