ODIs

South Africa will travel to India in 2021 for a limited-overs series, marking their first meeting since 2020 and just ahead of the 2022 world Cup.

They will play three ODIs and two T20Is against Indian opposition – making this India’s inaugural women’s T20I tournament.

The series will take place across Lucknow and Chattogram with seven matches scheduled between the two locations. Both sites offer varied playing conditions:

Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla Stadium offers traditionally spin-friendly surfaces while Chattogram’s coastal conditions promote stroke play. Teams will travel between both venues during each match.

The One Day Internationals will start on March 7 and conclude on April 21, with India looking to complete a perfect 3-0 sweep in Lucknow.

After competing at T20 World Cup 2018, this series represents India’s return to competitive cricket action; hopefully they’ll aim for top rankings when taking to the pitch again!

India will tour England in August for two ODI series and the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier tournament, both featuring Mithali Raj in an attempt to reach 10,000 runs in ODI format and add to her impressive record against South Africa.

T20Is

The International Cricket Council has unveiled the 2021 ODI and T20I schedules. ODI matches will take place across New Zealand, Australia, England and Sri Lanka while T20Is will take place across India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic issues the fifth Test between England and India had to be postponed as well as three men’s World Cup League 2 series that had also been postponed.

India remains top of the MRF Tyres ODI rankings despite losing to Pakistan last month and is looking to improve their record in T20Is where they have only won two matches out of seven so far.

But they will face a stiff test when visiting South Africa later this month as hosts South Africa are currently second in T20I rankings and could possibly reach semi-finals themselves.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named Anushka Sharma to their South Africa tour squad, making her senior debut alongside Kashvee Gautam and Uma Chetry. Vaishnavi Sharma, Sneh Rana, and G Kamalini were unfortunately left off.

Pakistan defeated Namibia to advance to the semifinals of the T20 World Cup and will now meet South Africa, who breezed through their first match against Afghanistan by an overwhelming score.

South Africa have come close to breaking numerous records at this tournament – such as becoming the first team ever to win all their games and become champions overall.

ODI series

One Day Internationals (ODIs) represent the pinnacle of limited-overs cricket, played between international teams. An ODI lasts 50 overs, sometimes up to seven hours long – they play a central part of World Cup tournaments and bilateral series alike.

Once upon a time, ODI cricket was the pinnacle of cricket – its sacred format felt irreplaceable and special. Yet now something seems amiss; crowds are thinned, players opt out, bilateral series arrive without much fanfare – an indication of its unspoken death – the unspoken truth being that ODI cricket may soon go the way of its predecessor formats: an early demise through slow decay.

South African Women will tour India for three-match ODI series beginning March 7. Mithali Raj will lead India, becoming the first woman to score 10,000 runs in women’s ODI cricket. Smriti Mandhana may miss her opening game due to a calf injury;

Ayushi Soni may replace her. Sune Luus will captain South Africa women, since Dane van Niekerk is injured. All matches will take place in Lucknow with both sides hoping for victory; live coverage can be found via ESPN Cricinfo.

T20I series

Bangladesh will host the opening series between New Zealand and India, where both teams have strong records in ODIs and Tests respectively.

New Zealand boasts an excellent track record in Bangladesh having won both series when they last visited in 2023; winning both ODI and Test series outright during that tour was their crowning achievement; though recent T20I defeat to India at Narendra Modi Stadium may provide them with motivation.

India will host the next One-Day International (ODI) series, with India’s women’s team having gone undefeated since October 2016.

Ranked second in ICC Women’s ODI Rankings, they will look to continue their good form. Meanwhile, Indian men will travel to England for five Test matches starting August 3 – with Edgbaston playing host to one ODI held there and also hosting World Test Championship Final 2018.

India will visit Sri Lanka shortly afterwards to play eight Twenty20 International matches before hosting the Asia Cup – this tournament will mark the debut of India’s revamped squad which was assembled ahead of 2023 World Cup.

South Africa and New Zealand will meet again for a T20I series for the first time in a decade this March in South Africa, marking a first time encounter.

Both sides have been playing well recently – the Black Caps most notably winning against Pakistan 2-1 at Lord’s. This series will take place at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow; matches will be broadcast live by Star Sports 2/2HD in India and Hotstar globally.
