Jasprit Bumrah took swift action by castled Matthew Short for a duck using an extraordinary yorker, before striking again to remove Mitchel Marsh and take Australia past their target of 127 for 5 in 17.1 overs – needing only 24 runs to win their match!

But they were unable to sustain their momentum as Samson was caught out by Henriques in the 19th over. Furthermore, India’s target was reduced from 25 in the final over as Kohli and Shreyas Iyer hit some fours and sixes against Zampa bowler.

Australian were simply too good for India in T20Is, winning six consecutive victories against them to stay atop of the rankings while India now sit third overall. Australia will meet India again for their series decider in Perth on Sunday.

IND vs AUS 3rd T20I

With the series tied at 1-1, India travel to Bill Pippen Oval on Thursday for a decider matchup. Following their poor showing against hosts Melbourne in game one, India showed some resilience in game two by electing to bat first and reaching 161-6 after 10 overs of play.

India’s bowlers displayed impressive consistency. Axar, Washi and Varun proved their worth, keeping the asking rate under control while SKY and Abhishek kept run rates in check to help the Indian side to an impressive total of 223/6.

After winning the toss, India took a cautious start, with Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma sharing an opening stand of 66 before both were dismissed within minutes – Mandhana for 38 and Verma having attempted an ungainly heave that Sophie Molineux quickly bowled out before Jemima Rodrigues also missed her maiden fifty, being caught at midwicket off Molineux as she attempted to run herself out.
